Today, the Taiko Alpha-1 testnet (a1) is live. Its name is Snæfellsjökull as they call so. Mainnet will be live in 2023. The project’s aim is to scale Ethereum.

Taiko Testnet

Let’s start.

Visit https://bridge.a1.taiko.xyz/

Connect your wallet.

When you select Ethereum A1, it will automatically prompt to add network.

Get some test tokens from the faucet:

Request ETH from Ethereum A1: https://l1faucet.a1.taiko.xyz/

Request ETH from Taiko A1: https://l2faucet.a1.taiko.xyz/

Just visit the website, make a tweet, add your metamask wallet inside the tweet. Copy the tweet url and paste.

If you got the test tokens, it’s time to use bridge.

Firstly, we will bridge from Ethereum A1 to Taiko A1. Write an amount to bridge, approve and bridge.

You can follow the transaction on Transactions tab. When it is ready to claim, click Claim button. It will automatically prompt to change network to Taiko A1.

Now change your network to Taiko.

Select HORSE token, you will see Faucet. Click Faucet button. And Mint button.

Use bridge from Taiko A1 to Ethereum A1 too. Both ETH and HORSE token should be bridged to Ethereum. Also, use custom fee options. Try to use the bridge everyday. Taiko A1 to Ethereum A1 bridge takes a few hours to process. Just wait and when it is ready to claim, click Claim button on Transactions part.

Ask me anything about the testnet on comments, I will try to answer them quickly.

Subscribe and clap the article please.
